Westlife Fightin Again

It was meant to be a well-deserved night out for the lads from
Westlife and their friends.

And after lots of deliberation, the nice, polite boys of pop chose to
let their hair down at the launch of London's hottest new club, Click.

But the lads intention to have a relaxed night in the plush VIP room
was brought to a sudden end when a cat fight broke out between their
female friends.

Nicky Byrne, and Shane Filan, both 23, watched in horror as bandmate
Mark Feehily's date was involved in a punch-up with a pal.

Our source said: "One minute the girls were on their best behaviour.
And then suddenly all hell broke loose.

"Everyone was completely stunned. One minute Nicky, Shane and Mark
were sipping champagne with Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne.

"Mark's date for the evening was having a chat with a pal in the

"The next minute, they just started shouting at each other and Mark's
girl was punched in the face by her mate.

"There was blood pouring from her nose and she started screaming and
pushing the other girl."

When Mark tried to intervene he was greeted with a torrent of abuse
from his blonde date's attacker.

Our source added: "The other girl went mad. Mark's date was sobbing
when he tried to pull them apart. But when the girl started screaming
hysterically at him, he soon sobered up and sorted them out.

"He took his date to a separate table. She looked in a dreadful state.

"She was covering her nose. Shane, Ronan and Nicky just looked
stunned by the whole thing.

"They just wanted to get out and get out fast."

Within five minutes the lads were escorted out of the club with their
girlfriends and chauffeured to the nearby Dorchester Hotel.

Since making it big in the music world the clean-cut Irish lads have
built a reputation as the nice, polite boys of pop.

But it's an image the boy band are desperate to dispel.

They have been involved in a couple of minor spats with fellow
showbiz chums.

Sadly, their attempts at acting like true rock 'n' roll stars have
failed spectacularly.

Bryan McFadden - who along with Kian Egan wasn't with the other lads
at the West End club - tried to pick a fight with So Solid Crew at
this year's Brit Awards.

A punch was thrown, but naughty Brian was quickly poured into his
stretched limo and delivered back to his hotel for an enforced early

The rest of the band were then banned from attending the aftershow
party at Home House by their management.

Westlifes new single: Unbreakable as Westlife from the states returned and one to them the finished version presented, did not give it unfortunately no lucky faces - they were with the result simply not content and therefore the "old" version, from which we have already 600 CDs in our citizen of Berlin office, were again again worked on. On Westlifes of English homepage a audio Stream of the new version for today becomes (19,9.) announced.

Westlife in MTV European Music Awards

We all could get Westlife to perform on this year's European MTV Music
Awards!!! It'd be something really big since Westlife haven't been on it for
the past 2 years (if you remember, they were on '99 at the Awards in Dublin
and they even performed before the show, but not every country in the world
got to see that performance just cause it wasn't into the show's time) and
they haven't been to the Awards on the past 2 editions AND they even won an
award one of the years but couldn't go to pick it up.

So if we wanna make the WHOLE Europe and the REST OF THE WORLD listen to
Westlife and see they worth it, we've GOTTA GET THEM to PLAY at this year's

Anyways, here's what the message said:

If you go here:

You can vote for Westlife to perform at this years European Music Awards!

Bryan's A Keane Lad

I HOPE BRYAN McFADDEN isn’t looking for behaviour tips in soccer star ROY KEANE’s controversial autobiography.

Booked ... Bryan's bedtime reading

The WESTLIFE star was snapped buying Keano’s book in north London, days after he and the band returned from LA.

The book deals with the Man U midfielder’s decision to quit the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup squad in the summer.

And since the hardman also admits to deliberately injuring Manchester City player ALFIE INGE HAALAND, let’s hope Westlife’s rivals BLUE wear shinpads when the bands next share the bill.

You could say both Keane and Bryan have their knockers — but Bryan’s are on wife KERRY KATONA.

Westlife Announce Extra Greatest Hits Dates

Westlife have added more dates to their Greatest Hits tour.

They will play extra concerts in Birmingham, Wembley, Newcastle and Sheffield.

Westlife are touring the UK during May, June and July of next year.

Tickets to the extra shows go on sale at 9am on September 14 and are available to buy Online.

Band Party The Night Away In Hollywood, by Sandra Coffey

The band were in Hollywood last week partying the night away celebrating the success of their American tour.
It looks like the band are beginning to crack the American market, something they failed to do on their first attempt.
After visiting some of Hollywood’s bars the band continued to enjoy the craic in Joseph’s night club.
Nicky Byrne revealed in an interview recently that the boys are just like brothers and if any of them did ever leave (God forbid), the band would still go on.
When asked about future solo careers Nicky said: “We’d give the person a chance, but nobody’s is wanting to do that at the moment because we are still so strong as a unit. We are making a lot of good records.
“But you can’t stop someone from doing his own thing. We wouldn’t do what Boyzone did when Ronan wanted to go solo. We’d wish him luck and carry on as a four piece band.”
Its not looking likely that the band will break up as the American tour is going so well.
The band will reach a new level of stardom once they crack the market stateside.
Nicky is due to make an appearance on the RTE show At the End of the Day which is hosted by Tracey Piggott. The sports quiz is will put Nicky’s soccer knowledge to the test. He will be joined on his team by Joe Brolly and Kevin Sheedy.
An RTE spokesperson said this week: “It’s great to have Nicky on the show. We cast our net wide looking for well known people in other fields who had a keen interest in sport.”
The programme is also hoping to attract Nicky’s possible father in law on to the show, football mad Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. Nicky is currently dating his daughter Georgina and have been an item for a number of years.

Westlife Unbreakable

Westlife's new single is entitled Unbreakable and it will be released 28th October. We'll be bringing you more details on the track but just to let you know the single will be delivered to radio stations on Monday 16th September and available to listen to on this website on that date too.

The video is being finished as we speak. We were allowed to see a sneaky peak of a version before its been finished and you're going to love it. The lads look as good as they ever have and Nicky is even sporting that hat that we revealed in earlier photos!

The video is a bit different to previous Westlife videos. Of course, the lads deliver a fantastic performance but in addition there's a strong story, with a major twist, running through the entire video. We can't say more than that!!

Expect to see the video online next week on Westlife Platinum. When we get a better idea of the exact date we'll let you know.

The band are in the States trying to crack the US charts.

They have announced details of their UK Unbreakable tour to coincide with a greatest hits album.

I think there'll be a repeat the day after, too.

Still In The States

Westlife are still hard at it in the States promoting their World of Our Own
single. They have now finished the video shoot for their new UK single as
well as a photo shoot for the Greatest Hits album. The lads will be
returning to the UK later this week when they will be taken a very short
break before getting stuck into some UK promotion.

Watch out later on this week as we'll be bringing you some EXCLUSIVE behind
the scenes photos from the US trip including snaps of the lads filming their
new video and on Malibu beach! (note the clothes are on!) Plus there's of
couple of Bryan taking some time out on the golf course plus loads more
great shots!

Bryan's Hoot On A Scoot

Daily Star

If this is the luck of the Irish Bitches want some.
Westlife bandmates Nicky Byrne and Bryan McFadden did their boy's n toys thing in Los Angeles, checking out the goods at a classic cars salesroom in Beverly Hills. But while Nicky parked his bottom in a blue Cadillic, Bryan was a little less enthusiastic and hopped straight on to his scooter to pedal away into the sunset. Mind you, he probably needed the exercise after stuffing his face with friends over lunch in Hollywood.

Westlife Is No Life For A Pop Rival

Fancy being a megastar on Popstars: Rivals? Then don't sing a Weslife choon, cos judge Geri's not a fan of their songs. "Every time a kid sings a Westlife song, Louis tells us what a great song it is," says fellow judge Pete Waterman. "But Geri says that they sound just like a country'n'western singer. So as soon as anybody says they're singing Westlife, Geri says: 'Wrong song!'"

UPDATED : August 29, 2002

They're the fab five taking the world by storm. They've conquered the U.K. and their next stop is the U.S.A. With tens of millions of albums sold, and enough number one singles to land in the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records, the Irish lads of "Westlife" are hopping the pond and hoping for a hit.

Although it's great to have that success in their homeland, "Extra" asked the band if there isn't a little piece of each of them that says they haven't totally made it until they make it in the U.S.? Mark says, "Absolutely. That's the reason why we're here. We wouldn't feel complete unless we came here and gave it a shot."

And the man who gave them their shot is "American Idol" heavy and "Extra's" special correspondent, Simon Cowell. Simon says Mark, Nicky, Bryan, Shane, and Kian have what it takes to be America's next pop idols. Simon says, "They have the X-factor. Within 30 seconds of seeing them perform for me, they did like a showcase, I signed them on the spot to a multi-album deal with RCA."

Only "Extra" was at the Beverly Hills launch party for Westlife's U.S. debut album, "World of Our Own." Now Westlife says they're ready to make America a world of their own.

‘If America Don’t Like Us, We Won’t Hang Around’, by Sandra Coffey

Getting airtime, that’s what it’s all about for the band who are coming into their third week of touring in the USA.
Yet Kian Egan explained this week: “We are who we are, and if America doesn’t like it, we won’t hang around.”
Their single “World of Our Own”, specially re-made for America was released over there on August 6.

Since then, it has been played by 63 radio stations around the country, and last weekend 10 new radio stations added it to their playlist. The song was played 556 times in the past week.
The boys revamped their whole image and recruited video maestro Atti J (who has worked with Wyclef Jean) to reshoot their World of Our Own video, complete with new hairstyles and expensive designer clothes.

New American manager Rober Livingston is helping Westlife’s US efforts. He has booked them to appear on the two top late night shows, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as on Entertainment Tonight.
Tuesday October 8 is the release date for the band’s US only version of the album World of Our Own.
The album will include one newly recorded track, “Unbreakable” and a new mix of the worldwide smash hit “World Of Our Own” that will be available exclusively for the US release.
The first four songs on the album will be Unbreakable, World of Our Own, When You’re Looking Like That and Bop Bop Baby.

The band prepared for the planned three week stint in London where they reshot a video for World of Our Own. Although the band have planned to stay three weeks in the USA, Kian Egan’s mother said recently: “They may stay longer depending on how things are going.”

Why Would Bryan Go Anywhere Else?, by FIONA WHITTY

Loads of front ... curvy Kerry is proud of her assets

FORMER Atomic Kitten Kerry McFadden has broken her silence over allegations that her husband had drunken sex with a lapdancer on his stag night.

When the shattering claims surfaced in April the star rushed home from filming in America to confront Westlife singer Bryan McFadden.

Kerry says: “You wouldn’t be human if it didn’t hurt when you read something like that in a Sunday newspaper but I know Bryan would never look at another woman.

“Yeah, he did go to a lapdancing bar — but for God’s sake I used to be a lapdancer. I think she was out to get anybody famous that night.

“But I know for a fact they did not have sex. It is a pack of lies. I know he loves me and me only.

“He would never look at anyone else. We knew stories like this would get in the papers.

“I just think the lapdancer is sick. It could have wrecked our marriage if I had believed it — but I don’t.”

And jokingly clasping her FF boobs, she adds: “Why would he want to go anywhere else?”

Kerry, 21, is besotted with her husband of seven months – and she is now expecting their second baby.

She got together with Bryan, 22, at a music awards bash when she was still in Atomic Kitten and he proposed just three weeks later.

She says: “I knew straight away he was the man I wanted to be with.

“He’s caring, romantic, funny. We’ll be watching TV at home and he’ll just get up, put one of our favourite Dr Hook songs on and pull me up to dance.

Besotted ... Kerry is head-over-heels in love with Bryan

“One night he took me out as a surprise and we stayed in a hotel afterwards. The next morning he had to leave for work but later there was a knock at the door.

“It was a dozen red roses with a card saying ‘Morning Sweetheart’. The following morning the same thing happened.

“We speak all the time on the phone when we’re apart and if I forget to say I love him he’ll phone me straight back and say, ‘Did you forget to say something?’

“He makes me feel so so special. He is a diamond. I love him so much — he is my knight in shining armour.

“He took me away from the life I led and said, ‘You’re going to have me here from now on. Trust me, I’ll look after you.’

“He really meant it. No one had ever said that to me before.

“Besides that, Bryan has got a fantastic body...hence the second baby.”

Throughout her fame with Atomic Kitten and early romance with Bryan, Kerry was living with her mum in Warrington, Cheshire.

Home was a cramped council flat on a rough estate regularly patrolled by police.

It was only when she became pregnant with their daughter Molly that she agreed to move to Bryan’s three-storey £1.2million house in Wicklow in the Irish Republic.

To many it would be a dream come true. But not to Kerry.
“It was a great novelty at first — but in the end I hated it,” she confesses.

“It was just too big. It took me an hour to get to the conservatory.”

As a result the couple bought two penthouse apartments in Dublin and knocked them into one.

But she is now ready to go back into a house and they are preparing to move again — into a six-bed pad in the city with a garden for their kids.

Molly was born last August and in May this year Kerry unexpectedly became pregnant again.

But just five weeks gone, she was rushed to hospital fearing there were problems.

She says: “I was heartbroken and so was Bryan. I was absolutely petrified but when they gave me a scan they found it was a cyst.

“They operated immediately and removed it but they warned me that alone could make me lose the baby.
“I had to have loads of blood tests afterwards before they could give me the all-clear.

“I was in hospital for a week.”

Throughout her stay, doting Bryan insisted on sleeping on a makeshift bed on the floor next to her.

Telly star ... Kerry hosting Elimidate

Shortly after her wedding to Bryan in January doctors had discovered another cyst the size of a football on her ovaries.

It was removed by surgeons but she was warned the cyst may recur.

Kerry and Bryan are convinced the latest baby was conceived during a stay in London’s posh Conrad Hotel — the same place as Molly.

Both long to have more. She says: “Bryan jokes that it’s going to be hard trying to get a baby as beautiful as Molly.
“She is absolutely stunning.

She has the biggest blue eyes I have ever seen. Every bit of her takes after Bryan — she looks nothing like me.

“She is so busy, on the go all the time. She is so active she doesn’t sleep in the day or at night. She only went to bed at 5am this morning.

“It’s really tiring but we take it in turns. Bryan’s great — he does the night shifts and the nappies.”

And Kerry can’t wait for her next birth. First time around she even slept through most of her 12-hour labour after having an epidural.

“I loved every minute of the birth,” she insists. “They actually woke me up to tell me it was time to push. I whispered, ‘Ssh, don’t tell anyone. Just let me go back to sleep.’

“Bryan was there holding my hand throughout and saying, ‘Don’t worry, you’re going to be a mum in a minute’.”

A few days later romantic Bryan text-messaged Kerry with a poem he had written.

It read: That Friday night arrived an angel from my wife/Her daddy’s face, her mother’s heart/A heart of gold to warm the place/I loved her mum so much before, but now I love her even more.

Kerry, who is 22 next month, bucked a trend by settling down young. She quit Atomic Kitten when she was pregnant with Molly — but does not reckon she has missed out on a thing.

Doting mum ... with tiny Molly and
another baby's on the way

She says: “I grew up so quickly with Atomic Kitten. I’ve done everything, seen everything, been around the world. This way I get longer to see my kids grow up.

I want to be a young mum with them. And in 50 years time I can say, ‘I’ve been married all this time to Bryan’ which I think is really sweet.

“We’ve got all this time together. We’re going to be together forever.

“All I ever wanted was a family and a nice house with a garden — and I’ve got it.”

She has no plans to go back into music and instead is concentrating on her TV career.

This week she is co-hosting nightly episodes of ITV1’s Britain’s Sexiest with former EastEnders star Michael Greco.

The show is looking for the nation’s sexiest male and female firefighters, medics, teachers, air crew, fitness instructors and builders.

Every evening viewers vote for their favourite, then a live final on Sunday will find the Sexiest Man and Sexiest Woman in Britain.

Kerry says: “There’s so many people out there doing ordinary jobs who are absolutely stunning yet they don’t get noticed.

“This show is going to bring them out. Some of the blokes are really good looking — I don’t know how I’m going to control myself.”

She was also surrounded by gorgeous people on her last show, ITV1’s raunchy late-night dating series Elimidate.

It was dogged by criticism, with disappointing ratings and accusations of fixing.

Contestant Donovan Russell failed to win the heart of a woman “picker” and claimed producers told them what to say and made their choices for them.

But Kerry says: “He had one of the biggest egos ever. The girl didn’t pick him because he was plain boring.

“She just wasn’t interested in him. He just didn’t want to look a t** in front of his mates at home.

“What he said was a load of lies. It was sour grapes.”
When Kerry finishes Britain’s Sexiest, she will be hosting Eurostar, the Irish version of Pop Idol, right up until the next baby is due in February.

She says: “Being pregnant is not a disability, look at Davina McCall — she was running around on Big Brother.

“This career will not last forever and neither will Bryan’s.
“I’ve got to milk it while I can so I can send my kids to a good school, buy them nice clothes, take them on good holidays and let them live in a nice house.”

Britain’s Sexiest goes out all week on ITV1 at 10.30pm.

Westlife Banned From Slane...

Irish pop super stars, Westlife have revealed plans for a massive concert in Dublin's Croke Park next year.

The boys sold out a record breaking 13-night stint in the Point last June and see the stadium gig as the next logical step.

According to reports in the Irish press, the band are not performing at this year's Slane concert as castle owner Lord Henry Mountcharles would not have them.

Westlife manager, Louis Walsh, has rubbished this claim. He said: "We'll be playing Croke Park next year and it is a far better venue than a field in Meath. Anyway, I don't know why Mountcharles is going on about which acts he will and won't have at Slane. The whole Slane event is organised by the promoters, MCD. He just receives a fee for his field."

Mountcharles has said: "I have no time for manufactured groups at all."

He was more than happy, however, to have Westlife member Bryan McFadden pay for the use of his castle last year for his wedding to singer-turned-TV presenter Kerry Katona.

Currently in the US on their second attempt at breaking the American charts, the band have had positive news as their single, World of Our Own, has had extensive play on nationwide radio.

They are also due to team up with Beyonce and Solange Knowles of Destiny's Child in San Diego for the music festival Blockbuster Teenfest.

Thumbs Up For First Footage of Band As IOU, by Sandra Coffey

Figures released by RTE show that more than 200,000 people tuned in to see exclusive footage of the band when they performed in the Hawk’s Well as IOU.
This was the first time footage of the band as the six piece IOU was shown.
The figure released by RTE stated that 205,000 people turned their televisions to RTE One on Wednesday August 7 to see a documentary on the Townlands series entitled Hawk’s Well Theatre, 20 years a growing.
Yet this affectionate look back at the theatre’s success over the past two decades shone a light on budding stars Shane, Kian and Mark.
The lads were in an adult production of “Grease” when producer/choreographer Mary McDonagh of the Sligo Fun Company, suggested they try out a ‘boy band thing’. The three lads, plus three local boys, called themselves IOU went on to fill The Hawk’s Well for four nights as a full blown boy band.
Kian said: “We were honoured to be playing to a packed house in the Hawk’s Well in the early days. It was great.”
The showing of this footage was a major coup for the documentary. In 1997, local DJ Ciaran Carty filmed 97 hours of IOU performance and rehearsal footage. The footage became the subject of controversy last year when Streetwise Productions, comprising Mary McDonagh, Padraig Meehan and Avril Dooher, claimed that the footage had been commissioned by them. The case went to law and in Sligo Circuit Court in March this year, the opposing parties hammered out an agreement to share any proceeds from the exploitation of the film.
RTE said they were extremely happy with the audience figures for the documentary.
Meanwhile, the band jetted off to America last Saturday. There they are pencilled in for a concert in the Coors Amphitheatre in California on August 31. Other top artists including Beyonce Knowles of Destiny’s Child fame will be performing at the venue. In the mean time the band will be touring various states and give interviews on tv shows over there including the David Letterman show.

4 Songs Locked in US Version Album

Valerie said that these four songs that are locked in for the US version of World Of Our Own due out October 8th. So here they are :
1 . Unbreakable
2 . World Of Our Own
3 . When You're Looking Like That
4 . Bop Bop Baby

Mark's Girlfriend news or rumour?

Lasagne Princess sent a message about Mark story. She got it from a Spanish site. While after that Valerie translate it from Altavista into English so that you can read too. I also put the real message after the translation.

The star of Westlife, Mark Feehily, admitted yesterday at night on a double whiskey, that it was in love with one more a younger female of Denmark. The old reporter of 19 years, French of Michelle, was in of Dublín, and Mark discovered that he seated in a bar, drinking. It wished to have a good history, and so she. The Mark almost analyzed in rasgones, later considering its fiancèe, I ACCEPT of Sara of Copenhagen in Denmark, for the first time inside the ages, in the visit from Westlife to Denmark the 5 of April. It was, that Mark has been in love with Sara for the pairs passed of years, but it finishes reaching only his love, kissing it, straight before the Danish concert. When we took to a word with the mark the next morning, it seemed terrified, "I does not know who are this French of Michelle, but I did not say any thing to him! What goes ignition between Sara and me, it is going to remain between Sara and my '." - it is obvious something among them so there... "finishes going ahead, saying to me that everything had there to say. Suddenly, everything knew on Sara... His lastname, age, height, and equal its favourite food " the French of Michelle, obvious very proud says. She will not say more to press on Sara, of the reason, that she wishes to give to Sara a certain isolation. Perhaps, the history of the Mark gave a glance him of the compassion for him?

Real message :

Westlife Cover Sir Cliff

WESTLIFE are set to make every toothless granny and clap-happy religious nutter in the country happy - they've covered a Cliff Richard song! Sadly, it's not 'Living Doll' or 'Bachelor Boy'. Instead, the boys' golden tonsils have re-worked a little-known Cliff ballad from 1976 called 'Miss You Nights'. It is one of five new tracks that the boys have recorded for their Greatest Hits album, out in November. There'll also be releasing a new single 'Unbreakable' on the 28 October, and a cover of a Connor Reeves (no, us neither) song 'Earthbound', which featured on the Buffy soundtrack. "The five new songs are among the best they've ever done," enthuses Westlife manager Louis Walsh, speaking exclusively to Planet Pop. "And the band are improving as songwriters all the time - you should hear some of the stuff Bryan has written."

Westlife on TRL

Just a reminder. Westlife will be on TRL at September 12th. It will be shown on MTV:UK at 5:00 pm.

Westlife Spends 3 Weeks In America

It was said that Westlife will spend 3 weeks in America.

Westlife's New American Manager

A source said that Westlife's new American manager is Robert Livingston.

Bryan Is Upset

Purple ^o^

Bryan is sad about the results of The 100 sexiest men in the world
His feelings are that nobody knows him, yet everyone knows his name. Some people judge him, not knowing that he has never changed. He needs love from their fans, however, he realizes that he has less fans as days gone by...
Please support Westlife as we should do! Though sometimes he's naughty, you must remember that he's only 22! We should support him, no matter what happens to him...

Westlife Are On Way to America, by: Sandra Coffey

It is looking likely that the band will be heading to America at the end of this week.
Before they head off in what has been described “as their toughest task to date”, the Sligo members of the band arrived home to spend time with their families before heading stateside.
A challenge maybe but one they will relish with the fervour not akin to their fellow stars on the football pitch whose endeavours in Croke Park have won them many new fans.
Yet the Sligo team of Shane, Mark and Kian are just just back after spending two weeks on holidays.

Such is the high flying life these lads lead, that Kian left for London soon after touching down in Sligo.
Patricia Egan, his mother spoke to us this week of her son’s busy life as a popstar, “Kian came back after his two weeks holidays but flew to London soon afterwards.
“Everyone with connections to the band including the tour manager went on holidays for two weeks. Everything just shut down.
“Now they are getting set for America and will be spending three weeks there. It may turn out to be longer depending on how things go.”

Shane too was home at the weekend and was spotted on Saturday driving his new black Ferrari around town. This was one of the Ferraris bought by three of the band members whilst they were over in London over two weeks ago. Along with Shane, Bryan and Nicky couldn’t resist and bought one each as well.

“Kian was looking at one but didn’t purchase in the end,” said Patricia without a hint of regret. Kian drives a BMW when he is at home.
So it’s up, up and away for the band as the dizzy heights of showbiz continue to keep Sligo’s best known trio flying high.

Irish Quintet; Westlife Set To Storm U.S. Shores With Exclusive Domestic Version of Multi-Platunum 'World Of Our Own' Album

Newswire Service

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- What do the greatest pop group of all-time and Irish quintet Westlife have in common?

When Westlife hit No. 1 in the U.K. with "My Love" in October 2000, it found its way into the Guinness Book of World Records tied with the Beatles for the most No. 1 singles in a row (seven to be exact). Three No. 1 singles later and the Westlife phenomenon is ready to storm U.S. shores.

On October 8, Westlife's -- Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Bryan McFadden, Mark Feehily, and Kian Egan -- will make their RCA debut with a fresh, US only version of their latest album, "World Of Our Own." The album will include one newly recorded track, "Unbreakable" & a new mix of the worldwide smash hit "World Of Our Own" that will be available exclusively for the US release.

Released globally last November, "World Of Our Own" has already tallied over 5 million in worldwide sales and is currently multi-platinum in 11 countries, including 12X over in their native Ireland. The album has already spawned two No. 1 hits in the U.K., bringing Westlife's career No. 1 total to 10 in just four years, a feat it took Madonna nearly 20 years to accomplish. Speaking of the Material Girl, Westlife's 10th No. 1 single, the album's title track, tied Madonna this past February for the most No. 1 singles within the last three decades. America, needless to say, will soon see what all the fuss is about.

"World Of Our Own" draws on the group's strengths -- epic ballads and soaring harmonies which raises the bar. Up-tempo "When You're Looking Like That," reminiscent of late '80s Prince, and "Bop Bop Baby," one of seven tunes written or co-written by the group this time out, represent a new found maturity to the group's seemingly never-ending catalog of pop hits. Previously unreleased track "Unbreakable" rounds out the group's third chapter in worldwide pop dominance.

The Westlife story began in Sligo, Ireland, where Shane, Mark, and Kian were the first seeds of what would eventually grow into a wildly popular musical machine with the addition of Dubliners Bryan and Nicky. With the guidance of Louis Walsh, the manager behind the success of fellow artist Samantha Mumba, Westlife made an immediate impact on the U.K. music scene. Their debut single, "Swear It Again," entered the U.K. charts at No. 1 in 1999 and the group has never, ever looked back.

Highlights of their remarkable four-year run include an MTV Europe Award for Best U.K. & Ireland Act in 2000, Brit Awards for Best Pop Act in 2001 and 2002, and two MTV Europe Record of the Year Awards ("Flying Without Wings" in 2000 and "My Love" in 2001). They sang for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican late last year (the first pop act to top the bill at the fabled church) and performed an astonishing 10 consecutive dates at Wembley Arena in London. With over 15 million in worldwide album sales and counting, Midas has nothing on Westlife. Everything they touch turns to platinum.

Never A Quiet Life!

After the hugely successful 'World Of Our Own' tour, Westlife jetted off for
a well-earned holiday. They'll all be back home soon, and then the guys are
off to America, where they're becoming very, very popular...

US radio is going crazy for 'World Of Our Own' - it's getting on all the big
stations' play-lists, which means both the DJs and the listeners really
wanna hear the guys! Quite right, too!!

Another very exciting development for our favourite five is the new video
for 'World Of Our Own'. They've made a new one for their legion of American
fans, which we're told is simply superb. We're hoping to have the new video
here on as soon as possible, so you'll be amongst the
first people outside of America to see the guys in Stateside action!

Mag Says Bryan is Not Sexy, by: Sandra Coffey

Westlife’s only dad, Bryan McFadden, was drowning his sorrows at the weekend at not making the list of the top 100 sexiest men in the world.
The list, released on Friday, had the four other members of Westlife. They were among eight Irish hunks to be included in the list.
Ronan Keating was top of the Irish in 21st place. The first of the Westlife boys was Shane Filan in 34th place (13 down on last year).
Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan came 55th, 66th and 85th respectively.

The poll was carried out for women’s magazine Company and top of the list was England star David Beckham. Former Big Brother winner Brian Dowling was also in the top 100, which lead neatly into the news that a new programme, billed as a cross between Popstars and Big Brother, will start filming soon.
Westlife manager Louis Walsh is on the panel of judges for Pop Rivals, but unlike Popstars, the judges will not have the chance to select the group.
Instead the public can vote off whomever they want until there are two groups, one boy band and one girl band. They will then fight it out for the Christmas No. 1 in the UK. The show will be screened on UTV in the Autumn.

Meanwhile, Westlife proteges Six are visiting Sligo on Tuesday next August 13. The band, picked out of thousands of hopefuls on RTE’s Popstars programme, toured with Westlife earlier this year, performing as part of the band’s thirteen-night sell out Point Depot run.
According to band member Kyle Anderson, Six learned an awful lot about touring and show business from Westlife.

“We were told before we went on the tour that we would learn so much from being on tour with the lads and we really have. The lads have just given us so much good advice.
“It was a pleasure to be on this tour. Now we understand what it’s like, and we want it even more having seen the reactions they get every night.”

No Frills! Westlife shed their skins for the US

Smash Hits

Praise be! Westlife have ditched the dodgy suits and frilly shirts! Yep, Planet Pop caught up with the band while they were shooting the video for the US release of the World of our own single and the boys were rocking a (slightly) new look.
“We’re off to America in a few weeks and this video is aimed at the American market, “ explained Kian. “So we’ve swapped all our fancy shirts for plain leather jackets and ripped-up jeans.” Pwhoar!
But rest easy, kids! The boys won’t be completely abandoning the sound and style you’ve known and loved for years. “Nah, we are who we are and if America doesn’t like that we wont hang around,” admitted Kian. Well, if that means you spend more time over here, it certinatly ‘suits’ us fine, Kian.

Christina Aguilera Snubs Westlife

Pint-sized diva Christina Aguilera has furiously refused to team up with Brit boy band Westlife, even though they may be an important step in her career path. Record bosses believe a collaboration would boost Christina in Europe, where she falls far below rival Britney Spears? Superstar status, and give Westlife the US profile that even their teaming up with Mariah Carey couldn't achieve. However, the animosity between the performers is long-standing - Westlife have blasted Christina several times for her diva-like behaviour at a London club, while the pop babe's spokespeople have countered, "It's bad that a band with so little talent finds it necessary to try to get the press to bad-mouth another artist with real talent."
And not even the chance of cashing in on Westlife's cult UK and European following will change the Lady Marmalade singer's mind - despite personal calls from RCA record bosses and Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, she's refusing to have anything to do with the lads.

DVD Plans

From devilish_devlin forwarded from BMG

Some of you have been asking if there are any plans to release a DVD
of the World Of Our Own tour, like the Where Dreams Come True DVD/
VHS was was made from the Coast To Coast tour.

The short answer is no - the WOOO tour wasn't filmed for DVD (ie 5.1
sound, lots of special camera angles etc), but: their may be a new
Westlife DVD this Christmas, relating to the last album.

Greatest Hits Video

From devilish_devlin

devilish_devlin was browsing around the Virgin Megastores site and spotted that
the Westlife Greatest Hits VHS/DVD is due for release on 18 November
devilish_devlin guess the album will be released at this time too.

It also has listed another DVD simply called Westlife that is
apparently due for release on the same day, it is priced at 50 quid
so devilish_devlin have no idea what it is!

Westlife evolve from rusty bike to BMWs

From devilish_devlin

Anyone who requires convincing of either the popularity or indeed
the talent of the Westlife boys should try to make it along to one
of their remaining concert tour dates. There is of course the
big `if' you can get tickets.

Having been dragged to The Point on Wednesday night by two young
females - offspring I hasten to add - I can tell you they put on
some live show. And the reaction of the screaming fans is something
to see - and hear. And when you consider that they have been getting
similar reactions at over 80 concerts on this world tour it puts the
Westlife phenomena in perspective.

They have come a long way in a short time. It doesn't seem long
since I first saw two of the Sligo founding members together. Shane
Filan and Kian Egan were carrying an old disabled rusty bicycle up
Castle Street in the direction of the Carlton.
Before that, from my vantage point at my upstairs desk in the then
Castle Street Weekender office, I often observed Shane out at the
back of the family-owned cafe next door, hanging out clothes on the
line. The clothes line was erected over a flat roof on the cafe and
the young `domestically minded' Shane would emerge through an
upstairs door to give his mammy a hand.

Then there was the original band, IOU and briefly, Westside. And
when they first came home to Sligo after teaming up with Louis
Walsh, everyone was talking about the crowd they drew when they
played in the relatively tiny Saint Anne's Youth Centre!
Now 10 number ones and several albums later, the rusty bike has been
replaced by BMWs and I'm not sure who hangs out the clothes.
And after their record-breaking tour they head off to try to make it
big in the US - a market that has eluded many major European acts.
While I am far from being an expert in these things, having watched
them in action my hunch is that they can do it.
But either way, the three Sligo lads and their hordes of local fans
will always remember where it all started.

Did You Hear About The Plane Failure?!

Sneak this week

"There was terror in the air this week when a plane carrying celebs including Will Young and Nicky Byrne was forced to land at Manchester airport after smoke alarms were triggered.
The plane was met on the ground by emergency services and the passengers taken to safety. Will said, "We hadn't been in the air for long when it started going down, nose first. it was pretty frightening."
Nicky, who was on board the Dublin to London flight with girlfriend Georgina Ahern, told us, "I'd fallen asleep but Georgina woke me in a panic. when we landed firemen came on board. It was then i realised how lucky we'd been."

There you are, lucky he's alright eh?

Molly Gets Christened...

*filan'$ funky freak*

Good golly! Baby Molly, takes bow..
Westlife singer Bryan McFadden and wife Kerry Katona are a picture of joy at the christening of their baby daughter Molly Marie in a quite service in Dublin.
Bryan 22 said, "It was lovely, I'm very proud of Molly. We'll have another party at the end of the month when she comes 1." And it gets better. Kerry 20 (isn't she 21?) is expecting their second child in the new year and the couple cant wait for the fresh arrival.
They have also moved into a new mansion in Dublin.
Bryan who sets off to America with the group soon to try crack the American market, said "I couldn't ask for in America and a family as big as the Walton."

Westlife In Canada

A friend told MeMeMe* that she heard on CD:UK that Westlife are gonna be in canada in feb. 2003 and that they are trying to go to every state in the US!
Not sure if its true but this is what she heard and told MeMeMe*!

Early Days Of Westlife Boys

Thrilling footage of Westlife members in their early years in Sligo as IOU can be seen for the first time in an RTE documentary next week.
In what was an exclusive scoop for the programme, the rehearsal footage of IOU which became the subject of controversy in Sligo Circuit Court last March is to be shown for the first time ever.
Also early footage of Shane as a 12-year-old gyrating and singing his way through a duet in Grease and this exuberant clip shows that he really was a star in the making.
This footage will be shown on RTE 1 on Wednesday August 7 at 8.30p.m as part of the Townlands series.

This footage is part of the programme which focuses on the past 20 years at the Hawk’s Well.
“Hawk’s Well Theatre, 20 Years A-growing” is a warm hearted, affectionate look back at two decades of the theatre. The theatre, which takes its name from a W.B Yeats play “At the Hawk’s Well”, was the first purpose built theatre in rural Ireland, and was a joint initiative of the Arts Council and Bord Failte.
The Sligo trio of Shane, Kian and Mark share some of their memories as kids in The Hawk’s Well and Shane’s mother Mai, Kian’s mother Patricia and Mark’s parents Marie and Oliver also appear talking about their famous sons.
For many of the band’s fans the exclusive footage of the band as IOU is sure to be a talking point.

The case went to the Sligo Circuit Court in March this year, and afterwards the opposing parties hammered out an agreement to share any proceeds from the exploitation of the film.

In 20 Years A-growing, the public will get to see the controversial footage for the very first time. In a scoop for this documentary, director Shay Healy secured the rights to show the film which shows just how far IOU had developed on their way to becoming Westlife.
In spite of 20 years of theatrical success, it is somewhat ironic that The Hawk’s Well’s most famous graduates are Westlife members Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily. The lads were in an adult production of “Grease” when producer/choreographer Mary McDonagh of the Sligo Fun Company, suggested they try out a ‘boy band thing’.
The three lads, plus three local boys, called themselves IOU and graduated from performing in the interval of Grease, to filling The Hawk’s Well for four nights as a full blown boy band. Shane Filan’s mother phoned Louis Walsh and the rest is history.
20 Years A-growing was shot during a week when John B. Keane’s play The Chastitute was packing out the Sligo venue. Cast members Mick Lally, Mary McEvoy and Maureen Toal share their experiences.

Westlife World - They’re SIX of the best

I've just packed my suitcase, bought the bottles of sun protection and I'm heading off to blistering sunshine.
Westlife are taking a break for a couple of weeks - in our crazy, mad life we need to recharge the batteries every so often. So I’m heading off to foreign parts for a bit of relaxation before we go off to America.
Since we last saw you in Dublin and Belfast, all the lads here in the Westlife camp have been busy in the recording studio working on new songs for our greatest hits album.
We're really, really pleased with the tracks and it's a bit of a thrill to have some new material on an album. It's an extra bonus for all the fans as well, so watch out for the album, which will be in the shops around October/November.

To be honest, I’m going off on holidays feeling pretty good with life right now. The tour was really amazing. It was way beyond our expectations.
It was also the first time that the lads here in Westlife got the chance to check out the Popstars winners Six, who supported us. All I can say is Wow! Sinead, Emma, Sarah, Liam, Andy and Kyle are going to be massive stars.
I was really surprised how the crowd around the UK went wild for them, as they weren't as well known there as they were here at the time. Since then, of course, they've been launched through SM-TV, which ran the Irish Popstars series.

Big band
Mark my words, from what I’ve seen and heard, Six are going to be international superstars. They are the next really, really big band to come out of Ireland and just watch them go all the way to the top.
Six, who’ve had number one hits here with A Whole Lot Of Loving and Let Me Be The One, are now giving Irish fans the chance to see them live all over the country.

Here are the dates and venues:
August 5 - Dublin's National Stadium.
August 6 - Cork's City Hall.
August 7 - Kilkenny’s GAA Club.
August 8 - Tramore's South.
August 9 - Killarney’s NEC.
August 10 - Galway’s Leisureland.
August 12 - Castlebar's Royal Theatre
August 13 - Sligo's Aula Maxima
August 14 - Derry’s Millennium’s Forum
August 15 - Dunganon’s Leisure Centre
August 16 - Newry’s Leisure Centre
August 17 - Belfast’s Ulster Hall

Finally, great news also from our pals in Bellefire – they’ve just signed a brand new record deal.

Baby Joy for Bryan and Kerry

Huge congratulations to Bryan and Kerry - they're expecting their
second baby! 'The News Of The World' reported the great news; with
Bryan telling the newspaper he'd like a boy this time, a brother for
their daughter, Molly.

Bryan said: "I want him to play soccer for Ireland when he grows up".
Kerry's due to have the baby in February.

Brilliant news guys, best wishes from everybody at and
all of your fans all over the world.

Bryan Pissed Again

Last Week Sneek

Westlife star on a boozy bender!

Oh dear - Bryan Mcfadden's up to his old tricks. Hic! This time he was snapped partying at Londons Pacha Club at Wyclef Jeans album launch party.
Westlife had just headlined Party In The Park so Bry was bound to be in a jubliant mood. But lately he's been making a habit of including booze (and lots of it) in his celebrations as our Brawl Diary shows.
In fact, Bryan's been in the papers for the wrong reason so often that he's now more famous for his drunken shenanagins than for singing. This week the tabloids teased him by reporting that since he was warned two months ago to lose weight by his record company bosses (BMG/RCA) his intake of bear hasnt slowed.
But Bry, we're more worried about your wife, Kerry, and baby Molly. We know you just played to 100,000 people, but dont forget your a husband and a dad too. So spend some time away from the cameras and the bar for a change.

Bry's Brawl Diary

December 2001; Bryans stag-night turns nasty when - again thanks to too much booze - he ends up romping in a hotel bedroom with a lapdancer, who then sells the story to the newspapers.

January 2002; It's Bryan and Kerry's wedding - and another excuse for the boys to get drunk during a 'build up' session. One guest later described the atmostphere in the castle where they wed as, "a gaint slumber party,"

April 2002; Bryan gets so drunk he misses the Westlife tour bus and has to take a cross-Channel ferry to Holland to reach their gig on time.

March; Bryan gets drunk (again) at the Brit awards. He challenges members of So Solid Crew, calling them wankers. Record company boss (and pop idol judge) Simon Cowell calms him down.

July 2002; Bryan perfroms at Party In The Park and later stumbles out of a London night club clutching a beer.

Wash 'n Go

WESTLIFE’s BRYAN McFADDEN showed off his new £100,000 Ferrari to Bizarre yesterday — but not before giving it a wash and polish.

The proud singer has only had the yellow 360 Spider Modena convertible a few days and explained: “There’s mud on it already.”

Bryan, who wore a matching yellow T-shirt, added: “I’ve wanted one since I was a kid. Why yellow? It just jumped out at me in the showrooms.

“NICKY BYRNE bought a red one and KIAN EGAN has a silver one so I had to buy this colour.”

Bryan’s wife, KERRY KATONA, is expecting their second child in January.

The couple, who live in Dublin, have a baby girl, Molly.

So how will you fit the family in the new motor, Bryan?

(note : Mitzie said that Shane bought a black one).

She just letting everyone know that the guys have an album coming out in January 2003 (don't know what album, because The Greatest Album one was said to be released at October 28 first, but later it was moved 2 November - according to Uptown_AnGeL *The SmarTy GurLy*). And she said they will start touring again at the end of January and she know Louie Walsh, and also Jim Aiken who is their Irish Promoter, that's why she sent this news.

I'm Kerrying Another Of Bryan's Babies

KERRY KATONA and hubby Bryan McFadden are expecting a baby which they conceived in the same hotel room as daughter Molly.

Last night Bryan, my old mate from Westlife, told me exclusively: "It's amazing but it's true.

HAPPY MUM: Kerry with Molly

"Let that be a warning to any couple staying in room 308 at London's Chelsea Conrad Hotel."

The pregnancy would appear to seal a future for the couple which looked rocky after Bryan confessed to a stag night romp with a lapdancer. He told me it was a "moment of madness."

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry is due to give birth in February. Bryan explained: "Westlife were in London on tour and Kerry had come to see me for the night before flying back to Dublin.

PROUD: Father Bryan McFadden

"A month ago she started feeling sick. We got a home pregnancy test and when Kerry came out of the bathroom smiling we screamed and hugged each other. It was the best feeling—just like when we knew we were going to have Molly.

"But this time we definitely want a boy. I want him to play soccer for Ireland when he grows up. We can't wait for our new addition."

Bryan also revealed the family are selling their two Dublin apartments and buying a £1million farmhouse "with loads of land for the kids to play in."

I was the first journalist to reveal that he and Kerry were an item in January 2000.

Molly was born last September and the couple married in January. I was one of 500 wedding guests.
